Caren Michael Menton was born on September first 1962 in Charlotte, North Carolina the USA. At two years old he moved from the layed back city of Charlotte to buzzing Brooklyn,New York. Michael enjoys life in the multicultural city where almost everything happens and the choices of recreation are unlimited.
At a New Years Eve Party in 1976 Michael got interested in music. He started playing the vinyl two years later, djing off and on ever since. His style has jazzy influences and a firm baseline. DJ Mr. Michael Menton likes the sounds of intruments in house music, at times with a vantage feel to it. He plays club and dance classics as an element of surprise, mixing smoothly the new with the old.
Michael enjoys playing a little piano, finding it a complex instrument for its keys and fundamentals. The training of the mind the piano provides is rewarding to Michael.
The Fantastic Four cartoon caracters were his heros as with their different personalities, they form together a real family. DJ Mr. Micheal Menton has deep respect and admiration for the DJs Marlin Bobb, Larry Levan, Shep Pettibone and Frankie Knuckles. They are the birth of housemusic and Michael loves the styles they play.
DJ Mr. Michael Menton is best known from the Coney Island Summer Parties of the first six years on Boardwalk of Brooklyn NYC. DJ Mr. Michael Menton played a club in the Bronx called The Warehouse and heated up the crowds at tail gate parties outside the football stadium.
