Fred Maldonado lives at 15 minutes from the music Mecca New York City in rural Garfield New Jersey. He was born in NYC, the USA on the fifth of September in 1962. When he left for Puerto Rico Fred moved back within a year to NYC  missing the cities spirit and nightlife to much to be apart.

Fred began with turning vinyl back in 1979 and in 1980 he joined the IDRC record pool. He started with spinning dance music and Hip-hop, and continuously added underground Hip-hop, Salsa, Merengue and Reggaeton to his musical taste. Experimenting with the
music made his style more diverse. Today DJ FM serves you deep, soulful, spiritual,afro house and classics. He embraces all music while house is his way of life. To him house is love and positivity. It has energy, is spiritual and jungalistic. The unique styles of Larry Levan and Louie Vega, and Louie Lou Gorbea inspire him. To further his musical career, he promoted upcoming talented hip-hop artists and sold mix tapes online through myspace adding promotions to his resume and learning the trade.

DJ FM did spin the tunes at the USA Roller Rink in Ft. Hamilton Pkwy,Brooklyn, Skate Key Roller Rink in the Bronx, Club Wings and the Kasbah Club in Queens. He jammed at Night Galleries NYC with Louie Lou Gorbea before leaving the scene to raise his children. DJ FM
appeared as a guest on 98.7 Kiss FM Summer Clean Up Concerts and Kiss FM NYC Board of Education School Concerts. He used to hold down a mix show on WBLS late Fridays or Saturdays nights and While staying in Puerto Rico he played at the Acropolis Stadium in
Manati PR and was guest DJ at the Starship Disco in Sanjuan PR. DJ FM enjoys entertaining people from all over the world serving them the love of house music.
