Experience the soulful sound of DJ Tony Jesus live from New York the USA expressing to the world his passion for house music with The Midnight Mass.
Born on Christmas Eve, the 24th of December 1970, Tony grew up in the close family environment of Elmhurst, Queens New York. At the young age of 13, he obtained his first official set. Tony started spinning wax learning how to mix on the highly sensitive belt driven Technics BD200's and moved up soon to the 1200's. His strong passion for hiphop and house music comes from staying up late recording mix shows from radio DJs like Tony Humphries, Red Alert, Chuck Chillout, Marley Marl, Shep Pettibone and the Latin Rascals, who influenced him giving him the DJ bug.
Going by the name DJ TNT playing gigs at local venues, Tony quickly advanced on to the club circuit spinning in the New York area at clubs such as Golden Palace, MK, the Pyramid and the legendary Tracks.
When DJ Tony Jesus got introduced around 1996 to college radio at Suny New Paltz's, 88.7 WFNP, he took a break from the club scene and played hip-hop on the No Doubt Radio Show for the following two years. From there DJ Tony Jesus got introduced to internet radio and started spinning underground hip-hop for the pseudo network for a show called 88hiphop alongside DJs such as DJ Camilo of Hot 97, DJ Avee and DJ Evil Dee of the Beatminerz. He also played rare soul, jazz and funk breaks on the Koolout show amongst heavy hitters like DJ Spinna. After holding residency at pseudo for three years, DJ Tony Jesus began to feel that deep soulful house was not being expressed enough due to the high demand in hip-hop. In 2003 Tony went back to his house roots and was introduced to downshiftradio where he established his "Souled Out Radio" show. Following his true passion he got re-acquainted with the house music industry and continues to showcase his mixing and producing skills on internetradio. Currently DJ Tony Jesus works with two Denon DN-S3500's which he stands by and loves for that 1200 feeling they provide that he grew up on.
Tony also plays keyboards, a skill he acquired in the early nineties. His style of silky chords injected into his house music along with jazzy hip-hop tracks made on the Yamaha Motif ES and the Roland W-30, has earned Tony Jesus his own signature sound. It rapidly created a buzz receiving strong positive feedback at various venues. The intensity of his house tracks is strongly influenced by the days of working alongside "Little" Louie Vega and Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez from MaW.
Once Tony Jesus became a respected DJ, remixer and producer, his production company AmpleSamples Music was conceived. AmplesSamples provides production, remixing and DJ services for unsigned artists in an urban and dance music capacity. Tony Jesus made unreleased remixes for such artists as Das EFX, Ak Skills, Mos Def, Street Smartz, Amerie, After7, and Eric Benet.
